Amanda was last seen on June 13, 1986, when she left her apartment on south 3rd Street to visit her boyfriend. She had planned to go later to Taco Bell where she was employed, to pick up her paycheck before leaving to visit her Mother in Rancho Cordova, California.
She did not own a vehicle so she often hitchhiked to get around. When she didn't arrive at either destination, police were sent to check her apartment. There, they found her two kittens that had been left without food or water, something that Amanda would never had done willingly. Amanda has not been seen or heard from since.
