Arisoneide dropped her 10-year-old daughter off at the home of a friend. After she failed to pick up her daughter, the friend went to Arisoneide's home and found the garage and front door unlocked. Her wallet and all personal belongings were in the home but there was no sign of Arisoneide.
Arisoneide had some medical problems after an automobile accident in 1988, but was otherwise in good physical and mental health. Arisoneide had just reconciled with her husband of 10 years with whom she had been separated from. He told police he last saw his wife at 4:30, May 28 when he left for work.
