Missing Cindy Lee Mellin

Cindy was last seen wearing a dark blue dress with red buttons, a brown corduroy coat and a blue pair of
shoes. She had on a gold pearl ring and was wearing her contact lenses.

Details:
Authorities believe that Cindy was abducted from the San Buenaventura shopping center after her shift at
the Broadway Department store where she worked part time.

When Cindy didn't arrive home, her father drove to her place of employment where he found her car alone
in the parking lot. The car had a flat tire and was on a bumper jack. The spare tire was sitting nearby and
the doors and glove department of the car had been left open. Examination of the flat tire revealed that it
may have been deliberately punctured with a knife.

Two of Cindy's co-workers had driven by Cindy's car about 10:30 p.m. They said that they saw Cindy
standing with a tall, slim man, about 35-40 years old. He appeared to be jacking up her car at the time.
Later when they drove by again, the car was still there but Cindy and the man were gone. They didn't
think anything of it at the time because they thought the man was Cindy's Father and that she had gone
home with him.

Cindy's family also believes that she was kidnapped. She would not go away willingly with anyone, she was
described as a "studious girl" who dated only occasionally, and to do so would be completely
uncharacteristic of her.
