Frederick Donald Leach disappeared in March 1976 from his home in Laytonville, California. His home was discovered ransacked, many things had been stolen and Frederick was nowhere to be found. According to Frederick's daughter, the items missing included several vehicles; a 1960s Ford Falcon, two Willy's PU jeeps and two motorcycles; a Harley Davidson and a Suzuki. Foul play is suspected.
