Details:
On October 18, 1988, Gayle left her mother's office at San Joaquin County Mental Health around 9:30 am to walk over to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Authorities know that Gayle made it to the Department of Motor Vehicles because her mother received her license in the mail days after her disappearance.
Gayle had told her Mother that after she finished at the DMV she was going to visit a male friend who lived close by on California St., and then either take the bus or have the male friend drive her to her 5pm schedule workshift at the Pizza Restaurant where she was employed.
She never arrived. When authorities questioned the male friend he said he had Jury Duty that day and was not at home. Police were not able to confirm this at the time and now he refuses to provide any information that may further help in the investigation.
