Marie was last seen on by her fiancé leaving the flea market inside the Eagle's Hall at 19th and Mulberry streets after an argument. In 1984, Janice Hooker, wife of convicted kidnapper and murderer Cameron Hooker, stated that they abducted Marie from a Chico, California street, tortured her and later murdered her. Janice Hooker attempted to lead Authorities to the area where Marie was buried. They were unable to locate her remains. Cameron Hooker was never charged in Marie's disappearance due to a lack of evidence.
