Details:
Mario Hernandez a retired jewelry broker told his caregiver that he would return before lunch from an
appointment when he left the Town and Country Village mobile home park where he resided. He never
returned. His case was initially investigated as a missing person, but "it soon became apparent that he
was the victim of a homicide.

An arrest was made of Rebeca Diaz-Nivarez. Detectives found out that Diaz-Nivarez was pawning
dozens of items of jewelry at several pawn shops in Santa Ana and became suspicious after learning
she was Hernandez last appointment.
Ricardo Dagoberto Diaz-Nivarez, 22, the woman's son, is also charged with murder in connection to
the case. He was located and arrested in Mexico in 2008.

The pair is currently awaiting trial in California. Mario's body has never been found.
