Michael Ficery, was reported missing on June 21, 2005, two days after his wilderness permit expired. He was last seen on the trail to the Tiltill Valley near the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir.
His backpack with a map and camera were found near Tilltill Mountain, outside his planned route, in what is described as a treacherous area.
Michael from Santa Barbara, California, is an experienced hiker and backpacker. It is feared he may have become injured or lost. Helicopters, dogs, and search teams have searched the area with no results.
