Mr. Phelan was last seen on October 1, 1981, checking out of the Six Pence Inn, in the city of
Tustin, California. He had been depressed over a recent divorce and family issues. He has not been seen or heard
from since he was initially reported missing. Mr. Phelan has been known to hitch-hike from Southern California up
to the state of Washington.
